Navam (February) is the Second Full Moon Day of the year 2012. It is of great significance for Buddhists due to a number of important historical events that had occurred on this Full Moon Day. Among those historical Events: The Buddha's nomination of the two Arahats Sariputta and Moggallana, as his two chief disciples, Holding of the first congregation of the Maha Sangha, Proclamation of the Pratimokshaya (Code of Discipline) for the Sangha for the first time after twenty years of Enlightenment and The Buddhas' announcement that he would attain "Parinibbana" (Great Passing Away) within three months.
Mrs Sujeewa Rupasinghe together with friends and members of Letchworth Dhamma Nikethanaya Buddhist Centre sponsored the Special Sath Budu Vandanava (Blessings Homage Pooja to Seven Blessed Enlightened Lord Buddhas). Buddhist Centre wishes to share the blessings with all! May all be well, secure and happy!
